Delete Your Account

If you no longer need your Valid Email Checker account, you can delete it permanently. This guide explains what happens when you delete your account and how to do it.

Please read this carefully before proceeding. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.


What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, everything is permanently removed:

What You Should Do First

Before deleting your account:

Download Your Data

Export any verification results you need. Once your account is deleted, you won't be able to access:

  • Verification results
  • Downloaded files
  • Upload history

Use Remaining Credits

Your credits will be lost when you delete your account. Consider using them before deletion, or they'll simply disappear.

Cancel Your Subscription First (Optional)

If you have an active subscription, it will be cancelled automatically when you delete your account. However, you won't receive a refund for any remaining time on your billing period.

Check Team Ownership

If you're an account owner with team members:

  • Your team members will lose access immediately
  • They won't be able to use your shared credits
  • Consider notifying them before deletion

How to Delete Your Account

  1. Go to Account Settings in the sidebar
  2. Select the Profile tab
  3. Scroll down to the Delete Account section
  4. Click Delete My Account
  5. The confirmation modal appears

  1. Read the warning carefully
  2. Type DELETE in the confirmation field (case-sensitive)
  3. Click Delete to permanently delete your account

You'll be signed out immediately and redirected to the login page.


After Deletion

Once your account is deleted:

  • You cannot log back in
  • You cannot recover your data
  • Your email address is released (you could create a new account with it)
  • Any active subscription stops immediately
  • API integrations using your keys will stop working

Alternatives to Deletion

Not sure if you want to delete completely? Consider these options:

Just Need a Break?

You don't have to delete your account to stop using the service. Simply:

  • Cancel your subscription (keep access until period ends)
  • Stop logging in
  • Your PAYG credits never expire - they'll be there when you return

Concerned About Billing?

If you want to stop charges but keep your data:

  • Cancel your subscription
  • Disable auto-refill
  • Your account stays active with no charges

Have Unused Credits?

If credits are your concern:

  • PAYG credits never expire
  • Use your credits before cancelling
  • Consider downgrading instead of cancelling

If you're worried about your data:

Common Questions

Can I recover my account after deletion?

No. Deletion is permanent and immediate. There's no recovery period or way to restore your account or data.

Will I get a refund for unused subscription time?

No. When you delete your account, any remaining subscription time is forfeited. If you want to use your remaining subscription period, cancel instead of deleting - you'll keep access until the period ends.

What happens to my team members?

If you're an account owner, your team members lose access immediately. They'll need to create their own accounts if they want to continue using Valid Email Checker.

Can I create a new account with the same email?

Yes. After deletion, your email address is released and can be used to create a new account. However, none of your previous data, credits, or history will be available.

I'm a team member. What happens if I delete my account?

You'll be removed from the team and lose access to shared credits. The account owner won't be affected.

How long does deletion take?

Deletion is immediate. The moment you confirm, your account and all associated data are permanently removed.
