How Integrations Work

Every integration follows the same simple workflow:

Step 1: Connect Your Account

Navigate to Integrations in your Valid Email Checker dashboard, find your platform, and click Connect Account. You'll enter your API key or credentials (each guide shows you exactly where to find them).

Step 2: Select a List

Once connected, we'll sync your available lists, segments, tags, or audiences - whatever your platform calls them. Select the one you want to verify.

Step 3: Choose Your Action

You have two options:

  • Verify Only - We'll check every email and show you the results. You decide what to do with them.
  • Clean List Automatically - We'll verify AND automatically delete or unsubscribe invalid emails. Set it and forget it.

Step 4: Monitor Progress

Head to Uploads & Results to watch verification progress in real-time. When it's done, you'll see a full breakdown of results.


Verification Options Explained

When you verify through an integration, you'll see these options:

Best when you want to:

  • Review results before making changes
  • Create segments based on email quality
  • Understand your list health without modifying anything

After verification, you'll see exactly which emails are safe, risky, invalid, and more. Then you can decide what to do.

Best when you want to:

  • Automatically remove bad emails
  • Keep your list clean without manual work
  • Maintain list hygiene on a regular schedule

When you enable cleaning, Valid Email Checker will automatically remove or unsubscribe emails based on the actions you configure:

Most users set invalid, disposable, and spam trap emails to Delete or Unsubscribe, while leaving catch-all and role accounts to Keep (these aren't necessarily bad - they just need careful handling).

Recommended Clean Settings

For most lists, we recommend:

  • Invalid → Delete
  • Disposable → Delete
  • Spam Trap → Delete
  • Role Account → Keep (these are often valid business emails)
  • Catch-All → Keep (verify results first, then decide)

This removes the definite problems while preserving potentially valid emails that just need extra attention.


Connecting Multiple Accounts

Have multiple accounts on the same platform? No problem.

You can connect as many accounts as you need. Just give each one a unique name when connecting so you can tell them apart:

  • "Mailchimp - Main Brand"
  • "Mailchimp - Client A"
  • "Mailchimp - Newsletter"

Connected accounts appear in your Integrations dashboard with a "Connected" indicator. Reconnect or delete anytime.


Credits and Billing

Integration verifications use the same credits as any other verification method:

  • 1 credit = 1 email verified
  • Credits deduct from your balance (Monthly → Rollover → PAYG)
  • Unknown results are automatically refunded

Before starting a verification, we'll show you the estimated credit cost based on list size. If you don't have enough credits, you'll be prompted to purchase more.

Team Members

If you're a team member, you'll use your account owner's shared credits. Your usage is tracked separately so the owner can see how many credits each team member uses.


Best Practices

Verify Before Major Campaigns

Running a big product launch or sale? Verify your list first. A spike in bounces during a high-volume send can trigger spam filters and hurt deliverability for weeks.

Schedule Regular Cleanings

Don't wait until problems appear. Set a reminder to verify your main lists every 30-60 days. Lists naturally decay over time, and regular cleaning prevents small problems from becoming big ones.

Handle Catch-Alls Carefully

Troubleshooting

"Invalid API Key" Error

Double-check that you copied the full API key without extra spaces. Some platforms require both an API key and a secret - make sure you have the right one.

Lists Not Appearing

After connecting, it can take a few seconds for lists to sync. If they don't appear, try:

  1. Refreshing the page
  2. Disconnecting and reconnecting
  3. Checking that your API key has the right permissions

Verification Stuck

If a verification seems stuck:

  1. Check your Uploads & Results page for status
  2. Large lists (100k+) can take several minutes
  3. If it's truly stuck, contact support

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need technical knowledge to set up integrations?

Not at all. If you can copy and paste an API key, you can set up an integration. Each guide walks you through every step with screenshots.

Will this affect my existing email campaigns?

Verifying a list doesn't modify anything. Only the "Clean" action makes changes, and you control exactly what gets removed.

How long does verification take?

It depends on list size:

Can I verify the same list multiple times?

Yes! You're only charged for emails that have changed or haven't been verified before. Duplicate emails within the same list aren't charged twice.

What happens to cleaned emails?

Depending on your settings, cleaned emails are either:

  • Deleted - Removed from the list entirely
  • Unsubscribed - Marked as unsubscribed but kept for records

Is my data secure?

Absolutely. We never store your email lists permanently. All data is deleted within 15 days, and we never share or sell your information. Read more in our Data & Privacy Policy.
